Astana. February 9. Kazakhstan Today - The review of human rights situation in Kazakhstan will be done in Geneva (Switzerland). The official representative of the department, Askar Abdrahmanov, informed at a briefing in the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, the agency reports.

"The Republic of Kazakhstan will undergo the procedure of the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) of human rights situation during the 7th session of the UPR working group on February 12 - 16 in Geneva (Switzerland)," A. Abdrahmanov informed.

"The interdepartmental delegation of our country will be headed by Vice Prime Minister, Erbol Orynbaev."

"The review will be done in the form of three-hour interactive dialogue with the representatives of the Kazakhstan delegation with participation of the representatives of all UN member states," A. Abdrahmanov informed.

"UPR mechanism started in April, 2008 within the limits of the UN Council for Human Rights and is aimed at review of human rights in all 192 member states of the organization every four years."
