Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus to hold negotiations on joining WTO as uniform customs union

Almaty. June 10. Kazakhstan Today - Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus intend to carry on negotiations on joining World Trade Organization (WTO) as the uniform customs union. The Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, informed, following the results of the session of the EurAsEC Interstate Council, the agency reports citing RBC.

According to RBC, WTO accession process will not be carried out by each country separately, but as the uniform customs union of three countries.

V. Putin emphasized that WTO accession remains a priority for Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus. "On behalf of the government of the Russian Federation, we will intensify our efforts towards establishment of special relations with the European Union, including formation of free trade zone within the arrangements on creation of the Customs Union," he said.

The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Karim Masimov, informed that three countries will cretae the uniform pool to carry out the negotiation process regarding WTO access, which will meet the interests of Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus.
