SCO antiterrorist exercises negotiations to be held in Almaty

The representatives of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) countries will hold the next round of negotiations regarding carrying out of the antiterrorist exercises in Almaty, the agency reports citing the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan.

Kazakhstan Today - The representatives of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) countries will hold the next round of negotiations regarding carrying out of the antiterrorist exercises in Almaty, the agency reports citing the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan.

"The next round of negotiations for discussion of the joint antiterrorist exercises - Peace Mission, which is traditionally carried out by the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in the territory of one of the SCO member countries, began. The exercises Peace Mission will take place in Kazakhstan on the range Matybulak in September, 2010."

According to the Minister of Defense, "the military delegations of the member countries of the Shanghai Collective Security Contract: the Chinese National Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan and the Kyrgyz Republic arrived for negotiations on planning and carrying out of the exercises to southern capital of Kazakhstan."

"First vice chairman of the Committee of Chiefs of Staffs of the Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan, Major General, Uali Elamanov, and the Commander-in-Chief of the Land Forces, Major General, Murat Maykeev headed the Kazakhstan delegation."
