Security situation in Asia remains stable and predictable - Russian MFA
Almaty. August 26. Kazakhstan Today - Security situation developing in Asia remains, as a whole, stable and predictable. Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Alexey Borodavkin, informed during III meeting of Ministers for Foreign Affairs of CICMA member states on Monday, the agency reports.
"The situation developing in Asia in the field of safety, by our estimations, remains, as a whole, stable and predictable," A. Borodavkin said.
"There is deficit of mutual trust. Unfortunately, there are attempts to create on the continent new dividing lines. There are serious threats to stable development," Vice Minister said.
"In this context, I would like to emphasize that CICMA, as a developed regional dialogue forum, brings powerful contribution to the process of overcoming these challenges and threats," he emphasized.
"Struggle against distribution of weapons of mass destruction is among CICMA priorities. The Russian Federation speaks for resolution of the Iranian nuclear problem and the problem of controllable denuclearization of the Korean peninsula through political-diplomatic methods within the limits of the existing negotiation formats," A. Borodavkin emphasized.
