Serik Akhmetov met with Latvian President Andris Berzins

Astana. June 4. Kazakhstan Today - Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Serik Akhmetov met with Latvian President Andris Berzins on Monday in Astana.

During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on further development of bilateral Kazakh-Latvian relations, including in the trade and economic sphere, according to the Prime Minister's official website.

"Latvia is for us an important partner in the Baltic region, and we are ready to expand and deepen our trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian ties, and we have all necessary conditions for it," Akhmetov said.

According to the Kazakh Prime Minister, the promising areas of cooperation are transit-transport, industrial and commercial sectors, processing industry, as well as innovation and technological cooperation.

Andris Berzins noted "the great opportunities of the two countries to deepen economic and trade relations and cultural cooperation."

After the talks, there were signed agreements on cooperation in the field of education and science, tourism, environmental protection.
