Situation in CSTO responsibility zone - uneasy

The situation today in the CSTO responsibility zone is uneasy. The President of Kyrgyzstan, Kurmanbek Bakiyev, stated in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan, during the meeting of the heads of the CSTO member states on Friday, the agency reports.

Cholpon-Ata. August 3. Kazakhstan Today - The situation today in the CSTO responsibility zone is uneasy. The President of Kyrgyzstan, Kurmanbek Bakiyev, stated in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan, during the meeting of the heads of the CSTO member states on Friday, the agency reports.

"The situation today in the CSTO responsibility zone is uneasy. It is, first of all, connected with security and international terrorism. Two events just took place in Caucasus and in Kyrgyzstan, when 2 groups of insurgents in the south of the country were killed and 18 members of terrorist groups were arrested. Therefore, this issue is very important for all of us," K. Bakiyev said.

"Today we will discuss questions on approaches and practical measures on formation of the coordinated information policy of the CSTO member states and the pressing questions of CSTO activity," the CSTO Secretary General, Nikolay Bordyuzha, stated.

As informed earlier, the meeting of the heads of the CSTO member states took place in C. Aytmatov's House of Cultural-Ethnographic Centre Ruh Ordo in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan on Friday.
