Summit of heads of Caspian littoral states to be held in Baku

The summit of the heads of the Caspian littoral states: Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Russia and Turkmenistan will take place on November 18 in Baku. Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Halaf Halafov, informed at a meeting of Vice Ministers for Foreign Affairs of the coastal states taken place in the Azerbaijan capital on Tuesday, the agency reports citing RIA RosBusinessConsulting (RBC).

Almaty. October 13. Kazakhstan Today - The summit of the heads of the Caspian littoral states: Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Russia and Turkmenistan will take place on November 18 in Baku. Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Halaf Halafov, informed at a meeting of Vice Ministers for Foreign Affairs of the coastal states taken place in the Azerbaijan capital on Tuesday, the agency reports citing RIA RosBusinessConsulting (RBC).

The summit will precede a meeting of Vice Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the near-Caspian countries in Teheran.

Discussion of the convention defining the legal status of the Caspian Sea will be the main theme of the summit. The status of the Caspian Sea was regulated by contracts of 1921 and 1940 between the Soviet Union and Iran.
