Support to ISAF operations in Afghanistan - example of strategic cooperation of NATO partners

Kazakhstan Today - Support of Kazakhstan to the operations of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan is an example of strategic cooperation of NATO partners. NATO Secretary General, Jaap de Hoop Sheffer, said at the opening ceremony of the Third Security Forum of Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council (EAPC), the agency reports.

According to Jaap de Hoop Sheffer, "political and military cooperation between NATO and partners constantly strengthens. NATO member countries play an important role in the operations carried out by NATO."

"A significant support of Kazakhstan in the operation of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan is an example of the considerable strategic contribution," NATO Secretary General said, addressing the forum participants.

The Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation at NATO headquarters in Brussels, Dmitry Rogozin, during the forum break said in the interview to journalists that NATO cannot resolve the situation in Afghanistan without Central Asia, Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).
