Tajikistan President met Kazakhstan Ambassador in Tajikistan

At the press conference, following the results of the negotiations, A. Ahmetov noted that during conversation the parties discussed the questions of preparation of the official visit of Kazakhstan Prime Minister, Karim Masimov, to Tajikistan who, in the opinion of the diplomat, will give a powerful impulse to further development of bilateral relations. "We also discussed preparation for Days of Kazakh Culture in Tajikistan in response to the last year's Days of Culture of Tajikistan in Kazakhstan," the Ambassador emphasized.

A. Ahmetov expressed gratitude for E. Rahmon's participation in celebrations on the occasion of 10th anniversary of Astana and for the official visit in May. Speaking about economic relations, the Ambassador noted that "for the last 5 years their volume has grown three times".

In 2007, commodity turnover between two countries exceeded $300 million. The interest of Kazakhstan in participatation of economic development of Tajikistan is the evidence that these volumes will increase," he said.

A. Ahmetov reminded that this year 100 Tajik students will study in the Kazakhstan high schools.
