Tokayev Congratulates Montenegro's President on Statehood Day

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has sent a congratulatory telegram to Montenegrin President Jakov Milatović on the occasion of Statehood Day, the Akorda presidential press service reported.
President Tokayev noted that Kazakhstan highly values its longstanding cooperation with Montenegro, which is based on friendship and mutual respect.
He also stressed that President Milatović's recent official visit to Astana marked an important milestone in the development of bilateral relations and created new opportunities to expand cooperation across a broad range of areas.
President Tokayev wished Jakov Milatović continued success in his public service and extended his wishes for peace, prosperity, and well-being to the people of Montenegro.

Foreign Ministry confirms death of Kazakh female in Serbia

Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed the death of a female Kazakh citizen in Serbia, an agency correspondent reports.
"The Embassy of Kazakhstan in Serbia, in coordination with local authorities, is establishing the full circumstances of the incident. Kazakh diplomats remain in constant contact with the victim's family, providing comprehensive consular and legal assistance. The matter is under the ministry's direct oversight," the foreign ministry's press service stated.
Reports regarding the death of the Kazakh national in Belgrade had previously circulated on social media. Relatives of the deceased called for a thorough investigation into the tragedy and appealed to the public for assistance in clarifying the details surrounding the incident.

Kazakhstan and Pakistan Expand Cooperation Between Their Capitals

Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Pakistan Yerzhan Kistafin held a meeting with Sohail Ashraf, Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner of Islamabad.
During the meeting, Ambassador Kistafin briefed his counterpart on the current agenda of Kazakhstan-Pakistan cooperation and shared the outcomes of the first State Visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, to Pakistan in February 2026. Particular attention was given to the agreements reached during the visit and to promising bilateral projects within the framework of interregional cooperation.
The two sides discussed ways to strengthen cooperation between the municipal authorities of Astana and Islamabad. In particular, they explored prospects for collaboration in the fields of digitalization, information technology, artificial intelligence, education, urban infrastructure development, urban greening, as well as the establishment of direct contacts between the chambers of commerce and industry and business communities of the two capitals.
Chairman of the CDA Sohail Ashraf expressed his interest in advancing practical cooperation in these areas and supported the initiative to further expand ties between the two capitals.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to organize reciprocal visits by representatives of the municipal authorities of Astana and Islamabad in 2026-2027 to exchange best practices and implement joint initiatives.

The Embassy of Kazakhstan to Pakistan hosted a briefing for representatives of Pakistan's leading media outlets on the theme "Kazakhstan's Political Transformation in a New Era and New Horizons of Cooperation between Kazakhstan and Pakistan.", Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports.
Opening the briefing, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Pakistan Yerzhan Kistafin introduced the participants to the key political reforms being implemented in Kazakhstan as part of the country's Just Kazakhstan agenda. He also elaborated on the new stage of Kazakhstan's constitutional development, the principal priorities of state policy, and the future prospects for the country's socio-economic modernization. In particular, the Ambassador presented the main points of President of of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev's address at the joint session of the Chambers of Parliament dedicated to the entry into force of the new Constitution and the upcoming Kurultai elections.
During his remarks, Ambassador Kistafin also spoke about the current state of Kazakhstan-Pakistan relations, highlighting the high level of political dialogue between the two countries. He reviewed the key outcomes of President Tokayev's first state visit to Islamabad in February this year and noted the steady expansion of bilateral cooperation in transport and logistics, trade and investment, education, IT, digitalization, culture, tourism, sports, and other areas.
The event concluded with a ceremony during which letters of appreciation were presented to representatives of the media community in recognition of their valuable contribution to strengthening cooperation between Kazakhstan and Pakistan, their comprehensive coverage of Kazakhstan-related events, and their continued informational support for the activities of the Embassy.

Kazakhstan and Armenia Reaffirm Commitment to Expanding Bilateral Cooperation

On the occasion of the completion of his diplomatic mission to the Republic of Armenia, the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Bolat Imanbayev, was received by the President of the Republic of Armenia, Vahagn Khachaturyan, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and future prospects of Kazakhstan-Armenia cooperation and reaffirmed their mutual commitment to further strengthening the bilateral partnership.
Vahagn Khachaturyan highly praised the comprehensive modernization agenda pursued under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, noting the consistent implementation of large-scale political and socio-economic reforms, Kazakhstan’s achievements in sustainable economic development, and the strengthening of its international standing. The President of Armenia also highlighted the constructive role played by the President of Kazakhstan in the process of normalizing Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, commending his efforts to promote peace, stability, and cooperation in the South Caucasus.
President Vahagn Khachaturyan noted that active political dialogue between the two countries, regular contacts at the highest and high levels, and the implementation of agreements reached had given new impetus to the development of Kazakh-Armenian relations. According to him, cooperation between Astana and Yerevan has reached a qualitatively new level, encompassing political, trade and economic, as well as cultural and humanitarian dimensions.

Kazakhstan and Poland Strengthen Cooperation in Sports

A meeting between a delegation of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the leadership of the Polish Olympic Committee, headed by its President Radosław Piesiewicz, was held at the Committee's headquarters in Warsaw, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports.
The Kazakh delegation comprised senior representatives of government bodies, sports institutions and organizations, as well as representatives of the Kazakh National University of Sport. A representative of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Republic of Poland also participated in the meeting.
During the meeting, the Polish side presented its experience in the operation of the national sports system, the organization of the Olympic movement, cooperation with sports federations, the preparation of national teams, and the development of international sports cooperation.
The parties also exchanged views on the prospects for further strengthening Kazakhstan-Poland cooperation in the fields of sport and education. Particular attention was given to opportunities for implementing joint educational programmes, sharing expertise in sports management, developing professional training, and enhancing sports infrastructure.
The visit was organized by WSG University in cooperation with the Kazakh National University of Sport, with the support of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The meeting marked an important step in strengthening Kazakhstan-Poland cooperation in the field of sport and reaffirmed the mutual commitment of both sides to expanding their partnership and implementing joint initiatives.

Kazakhstan's Flag Raised at UN Peacekeeping Mission Base in Lebanon

A ceremony to raise Kazakhstan's national flag has been held at the base of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), Kazakhstan's Ministry of Defence said.
The event was attended by personnel from the Indian battalion and the Kazakh peacekeeping contingent. Following the playing of the national anthems of Kazakhstan and India, as well as the United Nations anthem, the commander of the Indian battalion presented the commander of the Kazakh contingent with a UNIFIL commemorative insignia.
According to the ministry, the raising of the national flag is a long-standing UNIFIL tradition and symbolises the official deployment and presence of a national contingent at the mission's base.
Earlier, 11 Kazakh peacekeepers arrived in Lebanon to begin a six-month deployment as part of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon.

Constitution and the Country’s Future Discussed with Kazakh Students in Brno

Consular services, inter-university cooperation, employment opportunities, and participation in the upcoming parliamentary elections were the main topics of a meeting between the leadership and staff of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Czech Republic and Kazakh students studying at higher education institutions in the South Moravian Region, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports.
Addressing the participants, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Czech Republic Kairat Abdrakhmanov noted that Kazakh students pursuing higher education abroad have consistently demonstrated patriotism, strong academic performance and a high level of commitment to their studies. He also expressed his appreciation for their active involvement in charitable initiatives, musical performances and other cultural events held across the Czech Republic.
During the lively discussion, the students explored opportunities to apply in Kazakhstan the knowledge and skills they are acquiring in biotechnology, automotive engineering, project management, regional development, environmental protection, economics and the humanities. They also put forward a number of practical proposals aimed at strengthening mutually beneficial partnerships between higher education institutions in Kazakhstan and the Czech Republic, expanding academic mobility programmes and promoting internship opportunities.
A separate part of the discussion focused on the upcoming elections to the Kurultai, as well as on the role of the unicameral Parliament and the Halyq Kenesi (People’s Council) as new platforms for public dialogue that bring together representatives of diverse social groups and facilitate discussions on key issues related to the country's development. The students were briefed on the main directions of Kazakhstan's socio-political development, the key provisions of the new Constitution, and the reforms initiated by President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev aimed at strengthening the rule of law, safeguarding the rights of citizens, and enhancing the effectiveness of state institutions and public bodies.
The meeting in Brno once again highlighted the important contribution of students and young people, as well as the broader education and research community, to strengthening humanitarian ties between Kazakhstan and the Czech Republic.

Kazakhstan Calls for Further Strengthening of the Strategic Partnership between Central Asia and the European Union

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Arman Issetov participated in the 13th "Central Asia - European Union" High-Level Political and Security Dialogue, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports.
The EU delegation was led by Olof Skoog, Deputy Secretary-General for Political Affairs of the European External Action Service (EEAS).
The meeting provided an opportunity for a substantive exchange of views on current issues of cross-regional cooperation, including the European Union’s programme activities in Central Asia. In particular, the participants reviewed the implementation of the agreements reached at the first Central Asia - European Union Summit held in Samarkand on 3-4 April 2025, as well as the Joint Roadmap for deepening ties between CA and the EU adopted in Luxembourg on 23 October 2023, with a particular focus on cooperation in the field of security. The delegations also considered the schedule of joint international events for 2026-2027.
The Kazakh diplomat briefed the participants on the current situation in the region, Kazakhstan’s efforts at both the national and regional levels to promote stability and sustainable development, and presented a number of constructive proposals aimed at further strengthening cross-regional cooperation in the political, economic and security areas.
The participants reaffirmed their mutual interest in further enhancing cooperation on border management, addressing regional challenges and threats related to terrorism and extremism, combating illicit drug trafficking, and expanding interagency cooperation among law enforcement authorities.
On the margins of the meeting, A. Issetov and O. Skoog held bilateral talks to discuss the current state and prospects of the Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation between Kazakhstan and the European Union. Particular attention was devoted to the practical implementation of the agreements reached during the official visit of President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Brussels on 22-23 June 2026.
The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of the shared commitment to further strengthening cooperation between Central Asia and the European Union on the basis of mutual trust and equal partnership.
