Uniform custom duties of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan to be formed by April, 1
Astana. January 23. Kazakhstan Today - The government of Kazakhstan will create the project of the uniform custom duties with Russia and Belarus till April, 1st, 2009, the Minister of Industry and Commerce of Kazakhstan, Vladimir Schkolnik informed during the department meeting, the agency reports.
"Providing by the CIS countries in conditions of the world financial crisis the subsidies for manufacture and export of goods will render and is already rendering negative influence on competitiveness of the domestic goods," V. Schkolnik said.
The Ministry of Industry and Commerce plans to accept a number of measures on protection of domestic manufacture. In particular, "bilateral and multilateral negotiations on introduction of Kazakhstan into WTO, actions on bringing the Kazakhstan legislation into full conformity with the positions of the basic agreements of WTO, and continuation of the work on formation of the Customs Union."
As for creation of the Customs Union, according to the Industry Minister, the countries-partners are working over development of the uniform tariff.
"The project of the Uniform Custom duties with Russia and Belarus needs to be created till April, 1st, 2009. Thus, the national interests of Kazakhstan will be kept," V. Schkolnik promised.
