World Islamic League to open regional office in Astana

Kazakhstan Today - The Secretary General of the World Islamic League, Abdalla ben Abdel Muhsin At-Turki, informed during the meeting with the Ambassador of Kazakhstan, Kayrat Lama Sharif on December, 23rd, 2008 in Riyadh that the World Islamic League plans to open in Astana its regional office next year, the agency reports citing the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.

"Abdalla ben Abdel Muhsin At-Turki noted that on the eve of the third Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions the World Islamic League plans to open its regional office in Astana," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs.

According to the press service, he emphasized, "The taken place under the initiative of the Keeper of two sacred relics of Mecca International Muslim Conference on Dialogue, the Madrid Interreligious Forum, the New York special session of the UN General Assembly on Dialogue of Civilizations were held this year along with Astana Conference - Common World: Progress Through Diversity and Third Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions that will be held in 2009."
