Adoption of Astana Declaration - success of OSCE summit
Astana. December 3. Kazakhstan Today - The summit's success of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) consists in adoption of the Astana Declaration. The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, said during a press conference, following the results of the summit, the agency reports.
"My personal assessment is that we managed to adopt, coordinate the Astana Declaration. I wished we had solved all the unresolved problems and issues, concerning very serious international relations issues," N. Nazarbayev said.
N. Nazarbayev said the presidency of Kazakhstan in OSCE was successful. "All year, Kazakhstan very much tried to work actively on all three 'OSCE baskets' to resolve protracted conflicts. The heads of states and delegations, who had arrived here, gave a very good estimation and thanked Kazakhstan for organization of this summit."
According to the President, an achievement of the Kazakhstan's presidency is that the OSCE has determined the Euroasian vector for further development of the organization, which, in the long term, will allow pulling together the east and the west, the north and the south."
