Almaty. June 29. Kazakhstan Today – To strengthen political forces in the Republic, amendments are to be introduced into the current legislation on political parties and elections. The representatives of Republican party Asar stated today at the press conference, the agency reports.

"The existing legislation does not regulate the issue of unification of political parties and other public associations into one party due to hierarchy of normative acts," a member of Asar political council, Majilis deputy Sergey Kiselyov emphasized.

According to item 14 of the law on political parties, new registration is required to an existing party for reorganization (merge of the association). "It assumes new membership, collecting 50 thousand signatures of the members, submission of new documents to undergo complex process of creation of political party," the deputy said."

"We, as Majilis deputies from Asar party will initiate changes in the current legislation regarding reorganization of political parties," S. Kiselyov said.

As it was informed earlier, on June 19, 2006 at the Republican party Asar conference its leader Dariga Nazarbayeva addressed all political forces with the proposal on unification and presented the public Ideological platform of unification of pro-presidential parties."
