Armenia ratified CRRF CSTO creation agreement

The Parliament of Armenia ratified the agreement on creation of the Collective Rapid Response Forces (CRRF) of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) and the main principles of creation of the system of management of forces of the CSTO collective security system, the agency reports citing the news agency REGNUM.

Almaty. February 23. Kazakhstan Today - The Parliament of Armenia ratified the agreement on creation of the Collective Rapid Response Forces (CRRF) of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) and the main principles of creation of the system of management of forces of the CSTO collective security system, the agency reports citing the news agency REGNUM.

According to REGNUM, 80 deputies voted for the first agreement and 82 - for the second.

According to the Russian news agency, during discussion of these documents, the opinion that they will raise cooperation of Armenia and Russia onto the new level and that they are the element that will strengthen safety of the country was repeatedly stated.

According to an independent deputy, Victor Dallakyan, Armenia demonstrates "western vector of military-political cooperation in cooperation with NATO and active cooperation with CSTO - the Russian vector."

The head of the Commission for External Relations of the Parliament of Armenia, Armen Rustamyan, said that these documents increase security of Armenia and Nagorny Karabah. "In spite of the fact that Nagorny Karabah is not the CSTO member, it is difficult to even imagine that, in case of a threat to its safety, CRRF will not render assistance," he said. A. Rustamyan said, "Aggression concerning Karabah also concerns Armenia."

The agreements on CRRF CSTO creation and the main principles of creation of the system of management of forces the CSTO system of collective safety were ratified only by Kazakhstan. CSTO includes Belarus, Russia, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
