Astana hosts seventh session of committee of parliamentary cooperation Kazakhstan - EU

Astana. May 3. Kazakhstan Today - Today Astana in the Majilis building hosts the seventh session of committee of the parliamentary cooperation Kazakhstan - the European Union, the agency reports.

The deputies of both Chambers of the Parliament of Kazakhstan and the EU members are taking part in the work of the session.

According to the press service of the Majilis body, the members of the Parliament will exchange opinions on further development of mutual relations between Kazakhstan and the EU, realization of the agreement on partnership and cooperation Kazakhstan - EU, condition and prospects of trade and economic relations, cooperation between EU and Kazakhstan in the field of struggle against terrorism, organized crime and drug-dealing in Central Asia.

The parties will discuss a broad range of questions of bilateral interaction in political, economic and social spheres, regional cooperation with Central Asian states, the problems of environment and public health services, development of energy dialogue, the press service noted.

The session will last for two days. On Friday, May 4, the committee will sum up the results of the meeting.

The committee of parliamentary cooperation was created in 2000 in conformity with the item 82 of the agreement on partnership and cooperation between Kazakhstan and EU, signed on January 23, 1995. The Kazakhstan co-chairman of the committee is vice President of the Majilis of the Parliament Sergey Dyachenko.
