Bishkek to host first session of Ministerial Council of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan

The first Ministerial Council meeting of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan will take place on November 12-13 in Bishkek, the agency reports referring to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan.

The Minister for Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Marat Tazhin during his visit to Bishkek will meet the President of Kyrgyzstan Kurmanbek Bakiyev, the acting Prime Minister Almazbek Atambayev and the acting Minister for Foreign Affairs Ednan Karabayev.

E. Karabayev and M. Tazhin will discuss the questions of bilateral cooperation, in particular, the questions of "interactions in political, trade and economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres and the course of realization of the arrangements reached, following the results of the official visits at the high level in 2006-2007," the press service informed.

The Ministerial Council is a coordinating body of the Supreme interstate council of the Kyrgyzstan Republic and the Republic of Kazakhstan. It was created in April, 2007 during the official visit of the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev to Kyrgyzstan," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan explained.
