Bishkek to host session of CSTO ministerial defense council

The capital of Kyrgyzstan will host the session of the CSTO ministerial council of defense of the countries of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) on September 28, the agency reports referring to the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Kyrgyzstan.

Kazakhstan Today - The capital of Kyrgyzstan will host the session of the CSTO ministerial council of defense of the countries of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) on September 28, the agency reports referring to the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Kyrgyzstan.

The ministers of military departments will consider the results of performance of the decisions of the council of collective safety and the Ministerial defense council in the sphere of military cooperation and will estimate the work on realization of the CSTO interstate acts.

The ministers of defense will discuss the annual report of the CSTO Secretary General and priority directions of the organization's activity for the second half of 2007 - the first half of 2008. The session participants will coordinate "the course of performance of the actions of the CSTO Plan of coalition military construction for the period till 2010 and further prospect."

The chairmen of defense departments plan to consider two packages of documents on normative and organizational registration within CSTO mechanism of peacekeeping activity and improvement of the normative legal base of the activity of the Interstate commission on military-economic cooperation. The session participants will consider more than ten documents.

CSTO includes Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
