CIS Council of Foreign Ministers began its work in Dushanbe

The Ministerial Council of Foreign Affairs of the Commonwealth of Independent States session began its work in Dushanbe, the agency reports referring to the press service of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan.

Dushanbe. October 4. Kazakhstan Today - The Ministerial Council of Foreign Affairs of the Commonwealth of Independent States session began its work in Dushanbe, the agency reports referring to the press service of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan.

The Ministers for Foreign Affairs are taking part in the work of the session: Azerbaijan - Elmar Mamedyarov, Belarus - Sergey Martynov, Kyrgyzstan - Ednan Karabayev, Turkmenistan - Rashid Meredov, the Ukraine - Arseny Jatsenyuk, Kazakhstan - Marat Tazhin and Russia - Sergey Lavrov. Some countries at the session will be presented at the level of vice foreign ministers: Armenia - Gegam Garibdzhanyan, Georgia - Merab Antadze, Moldova - Iudjeniya Kistruga and Uzbekistan - Ilhom Nyematov.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan, the agenda of the session includes about 20 questions, concerning various directions of multilateral relations within the Commonwealth. The main issue will be discussion of the project of the concept of further development of CIS and the plan of the main undertakings for its realization. The projects of these and other documents prepared by the interstate working group are planned to be submitted for approval to the leaders of the states.

As it was informed earlier, CIS ministerial council of foreign affairs of the Commonwealth of Independent States session precedes the summit of the leaders of the states of Commonwealth, which will take place in Tajikistan on Friday, October 5.

11-12 presidents of the countries of Commonwealth will arrive in Dushanbe. The Ukrainian leader Victor Jushchenko in connection with parliamentary elections cannot be present at the session.
