CIS has no mechanisms for intervention in such conflicts as South Ossetia. The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, said in the interview to journalists after the meeting with Kyrgyzstan colleague, Kurmanbek Bakiyev, on Wednesday, the agency reports.

The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, said in the interview to journalists after the meeting with Kyrgyzstan colleague, Kurmanbek Bakiyev, on Wednesday, the agency reports.

"Efforts of some states - members of the Commonwealth became amorphous. This commonwealth "has no mechanisms for intervention in such conflicts as South Ossetia. And then when something happens they ask: and why the CIS countries are silent?" N. Nazarbayev said.

"In the future we will not admit such bloodshed. Probably the Ministers for Foreign Affairs of our states should gather to estimate the situation ... For example, today there are conflicts in Nagorny Karabah and pre-Dnieper and now in South Ossetia," the leader of the state said.

The Council of Chamber of Council of Federation of Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation addresses with an appeal to parliaments and nations of the world to condemn the act of aggression of Georgia against South Ossetia and genocide of the peaceful population of South Ossetia, to demand from official Tbilisi to immediately stop violence, to withdraw the armed forces from the zone of conflict and to sign the agreement on non-use of force or threat by force.

"The principle of territorial integrity of any state is recognized by worldwide community. All CIS countries oppose separatism and similar complicated interethnic issues should be solved peacefully," N. Nazarbayev said.

During the meeting the Presidents of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan discussed the questions of trade and economic cooperation of two countries.
