CSTO forms system of collective response to extreme situations

The first session of Coordination Council on Emergency Situations of CSTO member states devoted to formation of system of collective response to extreme situations took place in Bishkek on Friday, the agency reports referring to the Ministry of Emergency of Kazakhstan.

Kazakhstan Today - The first session of Coordination Council on Emergency Situations of CSTO member states devoted to formation of system of collective response to extreme situations took place in Bishkek on Friday, the agency reports referring to the Ministry of Emergency of Kazakhstan.

According to the press service of the department, along with formation of such a system the plan of the coordinated actions planned for the period till 2012 has been developed as well. Among other questions of the agenda - attaching to a number of structures working in the field of prevention and liquidation of emergency situation consequences and the system of civil defense the status of base scientific institutes, creation of joint centers on preparation of rescuers, and working over coordination through joint exercises.

According to Emergency Minister of Kyrgyzstan, Kamchybek Tashiyev, during the session the participants worked over the questions of bilateral cooperation. The Kazakhstan delegation and Kyrgyzstan considered three documents: the plan of cooperation between the Ministry of Emergency of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, between Emergency Department of Zhambyl oblast and the North of Kyrgyzstan, between Emergency structures of Almaty and Bishkek.

In the second half of the day the session participants met the President of Kyrgyzstan, Kurmanbek Bakiyev, and the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan, Igor Chudinov.
