Almaty. October 19. Kazakhstan Today - The first tactical exercises of CSTO peacekeeping forces have come to an end.

According to Caspionet, the troops of six states - Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Armenia were exercising the use of combat military vehicles and aircraft. Within ten days, the troops of the CSTO six participating states were practicing negotiating peacekeeping without weapons and military equipment. However, if one of the parties of the conflict opens fire, peacekeepers have the right to retaliate. This is what was dramatized during the active phase of the exercises.

According to the scenario, a group of militants attacked a military base and stole all ammunition from the warehouse and made a raid on the convoy with humanitarian aid. It was the commander of the airmobile troops of Kazakhstan who personally witnessed the activities of peacekeepers.

"All divisions of peacekeeping forces of the CSTO states train under their own programmes. This year, we held large-scale negotiations and defined the scenario and the conduction plan of the exercises," said Adilbek Aldabergenov, Director of CSTO Unbreakable Brotherhood-2012 Tactical Exercises.

For the first time in five years after the signing of the document on the establishment of the CSTO, peacekeepers of the six countries have been studying together to restore order in unstable areas, negotiate with the instigators of ethnic conflict and disarm gangs.

"Our officers and those who participated in the exercise acquired stable practical skills. I have no doubt that if we have to perform tasks in peacekeeping operations, we will perform these tasks, and there is no doubt about it," said Vladimir Gorshikov, Head of Special Aviation Units of Russian Ministry of Interior Affairs.

From now, the Unbreakable Brotherhood collective peacekeeping exercises will be held annually in the territory of the CSTO member-states.
