Delegation of Kazakhstan Parliament to take part in Assembly of Inter-Parliamentary Union work in Geneva

The delegation of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan headed by the chairman of Majilis Aslan Musin will take part in the work of the 117th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in Geneva, the agency reports referring to the press service of the Majilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan.

Astana. October 5. Kazakhstan Today - The delegation of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan headed by the chairman of Majilis Aslan Musin will take part in the work of the 117th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in Geneva, the agency reports referring to the press service of the Majilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan.

According to the press service, during the assembly A. Musin will meet the IPU President Pierre Ferdinando Cazini and the chairmen of the delegations of other countries - participants of Inter-Parliamentary Union. The meetings with the management of the Legislative Assembly of Switzerland are planned as well.

The IPU Assembly will open on October 8 of 2007 and will finish its work on October 10.

As it was informed earlier, the Inter Parliamentary Union was formed in 1889. It is one of the oldest international parliamentary organizations. In its work Inter-Parliamentary Union aspires to assistance to protection of peace and human rights, strengthening of cooperation between people and development of representative institutes.

The Parliament of Kazakhstan was accepted as a member of the IPU on March 4, 1993.
