E-government portal rendered over 4 mln services

The process of development of electronic government based on application of advanced information and communication technologies is aimed at optimization, improvement of quality and increase of affordability of public services.

Almaty. August 16. Kazakhstan Today - Over 4 million public services were rendered via the e-government portal of Kazakhstan over the first half of 2012, Kazakhstan Today reports.

As the Prime Minister's official website writes, the process of development of electronic government based on application of advanced information and communication technologies is aimed at optimization, improvement of quality and increase of affordability of public services.

"60% of all socially important public services including all types of licenses should be rendered only in electronic form by the end of 2012," President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev said in his Address to the Nation.

As the Ministry of Transport and Communications reports, 236 interactive and transaction services are rendered to people and legal entities via e-government portal. Thereat, 108 of them are rendered through the e-license data base (www.elicense.kz) and 128 - on www.egov.kz portal.

In accordance with the Ministry's information, the e-government portal renders 83 services, payment for 21 types of governmental charges, 16 types of state duties, 4 types of tax payments and payment for violation of traffic regulations and 3 types of utility bills. Besides, information services are available on the portal as well.

Statistical data for the first half of 2012 proves the efficiency of taken measures. As the Ministry informs, the number of registered users of the portal makes 56666 people. This is 7980 people more than in the corresponding period of 2011.

Besides, the number of rendered services made 4060328 which is 571838 services more that in the last year. 150878 digital signatures were issued in January-June 2012 or 4838 signatures more than in 2011.

The number of transactions conducted via the payment gateway of the e-government reached 8119. This is 7192 transactions more than over the last year. The total amount of transactions reached 31656573 tenge.

As earlier reported, Kazakhstan took the 2nd place among 190 UN member state in terms of the e-participation index and 38th place in terms of the e-government development index.
