E-government to favour development of networks of new generation

Today Kazakhstan is actively developing the e-government services and in this area mobile internet appeals to people.

Almaty. September 18. Kazakhstan Today - Over the past 4 years the number of mobile Internet users has grown from 1 million to 10 million subscribers.

According to Caspionet, in the interview to the Kazakh TV channel representatives of Kazakhstan cellular companies have announced that the e-government will boost the development of next-generation networks. In the recent five years the e-government has undergone serious development. Some types of certificates are given only in electronic form.

"Today Kazakhstan is actively developing the e-government services and in this area mobile internet appeals to people. Kazakhstan has a vast territory and the density of subscribers is very low," Aida Dossayeva, Director of Corporate Communication Department of Cellular Company said.

Using the World Wide Web, Kazakhstan residents can apply for marriage, pay a fine for violation of traffic rules, register the birth of a child, and order a new passport.

"For example, using these services, you can find out information about the condition of your driver's license. Tomorrow we will be able to expand the list and do it not only with the help of a digital signature. We can learn about the amount of pension, credit an account or get medical help. Everything is not far off," Aida Dossayeva said.

Due to the wide spread of the World Wide Web, in 2012 the share of voice services in one package of communication services has decreased by 2%. Market participants say that with the introduction of 4G, the popularity of the Internet will grow in leaps and bounds. According to the plans of the Ministry of Transport and Communications in 2015 4G network will cover all villages with a population of 50 thousand people.

"The number of active users is increasing. The service of video calls is also very popular. However it is not the most popular service. Our subscribers are interested in the mobile Internet in terms of information," she noted.

Tariffs contribute to the spread of the World Wide Web in Kazakhstan. So, according to official sources from January this year the cost of Internet access has been reduced by 27%.
