Elections of Majilis deputy elected by Assembly of People of Kazakhstan appointed for October 23, 2008 - CEC

Elections of deputy of Majilis of Parliament of Kazakhstan elected by Assembly of People of Kazakhstan have been scheduled for October 23, 2008. The Secretary of Central Election Committee of Kazakhstan, Bahyt Meldeshov, informed during the briefing on Wednesday, the agency reports.

Astana. October 9. Kazakhstan Today - Elections of deputy of Majilis of Parliament of Kazakhstan elected by Assembly of People of Kazakhstan have been scheduled for October 23, 2008. The Secretary of Central Election Committee of Kazakhstan, Bahyt Meldeshov, informed during the briefing on Wednesday, the agency reports.

"The Central Election Committee on October, 6, 2008 accepted the decision on termination of powers of the deputy of Majilis of Parliament elected by Assembly of People of Kazakhstan, Tsoy Victor Evgenevich, in connection with submission his resignation," B. Meldeshov said.

"Majilis of Parliament at the session accepted resignation of the deputy and preschedule termination of the deputy's powers."

"In connection with the specified events in conformity with the clause 85 of the Constitutional Law on Elections there have been the bases for scheduling new elections," the Secretary of the Central Election Committee informed.

"Nomination of the candidate of Majilis of Parliament will begin on October 9 and will come to an end on October 14, 2008," he noted.

As it was informed earlier, Majilis of Parliament of Kazakhstan made a decision on the preschedule termination of powers of Majilisman, Victor Tsoy, in connection with his written request. 93 out of 96 present deputies of the Lower Chamber voted for this decision.

As it was informed earlier, V. Tsoy was one of the deputies elected by the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan.
