Almaty. June 7. Kazakhstan Today - The first atomic power station in Kazakhstan will be constructed in the Western Kazakhstan oblast. The President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev said today during the Internet-conference, the agency reports.
"We plan to build the atomic power station first in the Western Kazakhstan oblast," the President said having explained, "the price for gas is high and it is more favorable to export it." The President reminded that "Kazakhstan occupies the third place on extraction of uranium in the world."
As it was informed earlier, the government stated that the most preferable construction of the first atomic power stations on the territory of Kazakhstan sites are Almaty, Mangystau, East Kazakhstan and Akmola oblasts.
