Five candidates to run for presidential election in Kazakhstan

Five applicants intend to take part in early election for the president's post in Kazakhstan, which will be held on April, 3, 2011, Kazakhstan Today reports.

Almaty. February 14. Kazakhstan Today - Five applicants intend to take part in early election for the president's post in Kazakhstan, which will be held on April, 3, 2011, Kazakhstan Today reports.

The Central Election Committee has received applications from five self-nominated candidates. The incumbent President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev had been nomited a candidate for the forthcoming elections from the People's Democratic Party Nur Otan on February, 11.

One of the self-nominated applicants - ex-deputy of the Senate of Kazakhstan Ualihan Kaysarov did not pass the state language proficiency examination and dropped out of pre-election campaign.

Three candidates have successfully passed the state language examination: N. Nazarbayev and self-nominated candidates Musagali Duambekov and Salim Oten. All three candidates have been approved by the Central Election Commission. All candidates have been given subscription sheets for collection of citizens' votes.

According to the decision accepted by the Central Electoral Commission, the number of signatures of voters in support of the president's candidate of Kazakhstan should be not less than 91 010. Signatures in support of the candidates for the post of the president of the country will be collected by their authorized representatives. The quantity and number of groups is not limited.
