Government dismissed chairman of Bank Turan Alem

The government of Kazakhstan dismissed the chairman of the Board of Directors of JSC Company Bank Turan Alem, Muhtar Ablyazov, and the first vice chairman of the board of the bank, Zhaksylyk Zharimbetov. The decision was accepted today at the government session, the agency reports.

Kazakhstan Today - The government of Kazakhstan dismissed the chairman of the Board of Directors of JSC Company Bank Turan Alem, Muhtar Ablyazov, and the first vice chairman of the board of the bank, Zhaksylyk Zharimbetov. The decision was accepted today at the government session, the agency reports.

"The Agency for Financial Supervision has made a decision on dismissal of the chairman of the Board of Directors, Ablyazov, and the first vice chairman of the board, Zharimbetov, in connection with recognition of their activity not corresponding to the interests of investors and creditors of the bank and the requirements of the current legislation," the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Karim Masimov said.

"Now after the government session, we will hold the council meeting of Directors of the Fund Samruk-Kazyna to define the new chairmen of these financial institutions. From now on, BTA is stable and all legal and physical entities do not have to worry about liquidity of the bank," K. Masimov noted.
