Government to develop scheme of withdrawal of state from banking system in 2010

The government in 2010 intends to develop the scheme of withdrawal of the state from the banking system. The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Karim Masimov, informed in an interview to journalists, the agency reports.

Astana. December 29. Kazakhstan Today - The government in 2010 intends to develop the scheme of withdrawal of the state from the banking system. The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Karim Masimov, informed in an interview to journalists, the agency reports.

"I consider we need to make an important decision: how the state will leave the capital of the existing banks ... And we will have to give a definite amswer in 2010 about how the state will leave this system. It is a question of 2010," K. Masimov said.

He also noted that state's interference in the capital of the banks "was a provisional measure. We did not nationalize them. We came only to stabilize them."

As informed earlier, yesterday at the press conference, Kayrat Kelimbetov informed that the National Welfare Fund Samruk-Kazyna will leave the structure of banks' shareholders within 3 - 5 years.
