Astana. June 4. Kazakhstan Today - Since January, 1, 2009 Kazakhstan government plans to oblige to pay export customs duties of all subsoil users whose contracts are not ratified by the Parliament. The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Karim Masimov said at the plenary Senate session on Tuesday, the agency reports.

"If the new Tax Code is supported, since January 1, 2009 subsoil user companies in Kazakhstan will have to pay taxes on minerals extraction and oil customs duties if their contracts are not ratified by the Parliament," K. Masimov said.

"In the new Tax Code taxation of subsoil users will be regulated, first of all, by Tax Code, instead of contracts signed earlier," K. Masimov informed.

He explained that "next year if the Parliament supports the new Tax Code, the government will reconsider this question to cover a broader audience of participants of export duties."

"Since January 1, 2009 if you support us by the new Tax Code, the situation will significantly change," the Prime Minister said.
