International center of space research to be created in Almaty - PM

Almaty. April 25. Kazakhstan Today - The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan assigned to create the International center of space research in Almaty in the second quarter, 2006, Daniyal Akhmetov gave the assignment today during the governmental session, the agency correspondent reports.

"We have a proposal from the Institute of Nuclear Physics, the Institute of Space Research of the Russian Federation on creation of the international center. The center is to be created in the second quarter of 2006 and necessary for the center resources will to be allocated," D. Akhmetov said.

"Besides Kazakhstan, there will be two centers of this kind in the world, but Kazakhstan has important advantages".

Kazakhstan PM has also entrusted the Education and Science Ministry along with the Informatization and Communications Agency to complete tender procedures for generation of "KazSat-2" satellite communications and land remote sensing satellite.
