Kazakhstan has once again reaffirmed its commitments to human rights and fundamental freedoms, said the Kazakh Minister of Foreign Affairs Yerzhan Kazykhanov at a meeting of the Council of OSCE Foreign Ministers held in Vilnius, Khabar reported.

This summit of Foreign Minister of the organisation's 56 states is the final session, by which Lithuania has completed its chairmanship of the OSCE. Participants summarized the year 2011 and presented their countries' stance on security issues.

The Kazakh Foreign Minister noted that at the 2010 OSCE Summit in Astana, the Heads of States and Governments set the OSCE a task to implement a shared vision of security in the Euro-Atlantic and Eurasian community.

Yerzhan Kazykhanov emphasized that this work should be carried out in a team manner, and Kazakhstan, as a member of the OSCE troika, is ready to continue to support the forthcoming presidencies of Ireland and Ukraine. The ministerial meeting in Vilnius formally completed Kazakhstan's mission as part of the OSCE troika and its chairmanship of the OSCE Forum for Security Cooperation, in which Kazakhstan was consistently promoting a number of important international initiatives.

As part of the forum, Yerzhan Kazykhanov also had a meeting with the US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for the talks focused on bilateral relations.
