Kazakh Government approved rules to encourage persons to report on corruption

This Decree shall come into force after ten calendar days from the date of first publication.

Astana. September 26. Kazakhstan Today - Today, the official press published the decision of the Government of Kazakhstan of August 23, 2012 № 1077 "On approval of rules to encourage those who expose corruption offenses or otherwise assisting in the fight against corruption", Kazakhstan Today reports.

This Decree shall come into force after ten calendar days from the date of first publication.

As previously reported, the rules regulate encouraging of persons involved in the fight against corruption. Assistance in the fight against corruption, the encouraging subject are reports of allegations of corruption offenses or crimes, reporting the location of a wanted person who committed the crime of corruption, as well as other assistance, which had subsequently relevant to the identification, prevention, detection and investigation of corruption offenses or crimes.

According to the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Fighting Economic and Corruption Crimes (Financial Police), the size of a one-time monetary encouragement is set in accordance with the severity of the offense of corruption or crime. "In particular, the size of monetary encouragement for the corruption offenses in administrative cases is 30 MCI, for the minor corruption offenses in criminal cases of corruption is 40 MCI, for the corruption misdemeanor - 50 MCI, for the serious corruption offenses - 70 MCI's, for most serious corruption crimes - 100 MCI," the press-service informs.

In this case, every citizen who reported on corruption offenses or otherwise provided assistance in the fight against corruption is guaranteed confidentiality and protection of the state.

Financing is produced from the national budget. Payment of a lump sum compensation is made within 15 days from the date of issuance of order to promote the transfer of funds to the person's account.
