Kazakh Informatization Agency to train computer literacy 26% of population

Astana. July 19. Kazakhstan Today – Informatization and Communication Agency of Kazakhstan within the framework of information inequality lowering program of 2007 - 2009 plans to train computer literacy 26% of the country population. Deputy Director of Informatization Department Aziz Shuzheev informed today during the round table, the agency reports.

"Realization of the program will provide successful functioning of electronic government,” A. Shuzheev noted.

More than 1,5 thousand teachers, 87 thousand state employees, 666 thousand workers of budgetary sphere, 62 thousand military men, and 47 thousand graduates of children's homes will be trained computer literacy within 2007- 2009.

"In total, the program will train 3.094 million people, or 26% of the population for three years. The purpose of the program - to increase number of Internet users up to 20 %," he emphasized.

For realization of the program of lowering information inequality for 2007 - 2009 the republican budget allocated 10 billion KZT.
