Kazakh PM, GS Caltex discussed petrochemical production

Astana. June 12. Kazakhstan Today – Kazakh PM Daniyal Akhmetov hold government meeting with CIO of Korean corporation GS Caltex to discuss the questions on creation of petrochemical production, the agency reports referring to the government press service.

As it was informed earlier, GS Caltex corporation demonstrated interest in the project of aromatic compounds production and intends to concentrate on its research.

During the meeting PM acquainted with the preliminary feasibility report on the production project of aromatic compounds and their derivatives (benzol, toluene and paraxylene). According to the document, the Korean investors will construct future complex in Atyrau town. The main profitability elements of the project will be prices for raw material and haul charges.

PM positively assessed the work done. At the same time D. Akhmetov noted that it is necessary to work over pivotal questions on formations of raw material price. KazMunaiGaz and GS Caltex are entrusted to finish and submit the project of the preliminary feasibility report in a month.

"The project should be coordinated with the national company KazMunaiGaz to enable other companies to participate in realization of petrochemical projects," PM noted.
