Kazakh PM set social and economic development objectives

Astana. January 26. Kazakhstan Today - Today the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Karim Masimov received the akims (mayors) of 14 oblasts of Kazakhstan and Almaty city, the government press service informed the agency.

K. Masimov received the akim of Akmola oblast - Mazhit Yesenbayev, Almaty - Serik Umbetov, Atyrau - Bergey Ryskaliyev, East Kazakhstan - Zhanibek Karibzhanov, Zhambyl - Boribay Zheksembin, Karaganda - Nurlan Nigmatulin, Kostanay - Sergey Kulagin, Kyzylorda - Mukhtar Kul-Mukhamed, Mangystau - Krymbek Kusherbayev, Pavlodar - Kayrat Nurpeisov, West Kazakhstan - Nurgali Ashimov, South Kazakhstan - Umirzak Shukeev, North Kazakhstan - Tair Mansurov, Aktobe - Yeleusin Sagindykov and Almaty akim- Imangali Tasmagambetov.

During the meeting the oblasts akims reported to the Prime Minister on the main results of the social and economic development of the regions for the last year, the prospects for the present, development of small and average enterprises and improvement of products' quality taking into account Kazakhstan' intention to become one of 50 the most competitive countries of the world.

The Prime Minister heard the oblasts akims and set the objectives on further social and economic development of the regions.
