Kazakhstan and Armenia discussed cooperation perspectives

The interlocutors discussed information technology, processing of agricultural products, tourism industry.
Chairman of the Lower House of the Kazakh Parliament Nurlan Nigmatulin received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to Kazakhstan Ara Sahakyan, the press service of the Majilis reports.

Nurlan Nigmatulin noted the traditionally Kazakh-Armenian friendly relations continue to develop in the spirit of mutually beneficial partnership.

Besides, Majilis Speaker underlined the importance of the recent meeting of the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in Dushanbe, noting that the issues and topics discussed will be important for both Kazakhstan and Armenia.

In turn, Ara Sahakyan noted Kazakhstan’s successes stressing also that the most important events of international and regional scale are taking place in our country. The Armenian diplomat called the construction of Astana's capital in a short time the rarest phenomenon in history.

The meeting considered perspectives of Kazakh-Armenian further interaction including information technologies, agrarian products and tourism. Majilis Chair believes in great potential and trade-economic cooperation. Moreover, Nurlan Nigmatulin noted a favorable investment climate has been created in Kazakhstan and work on its improvement is actively continuing in accordance with the instructions of the President of Kazakhstan.

As Sahakyan underlines Armenia joined EEU under the support of Kazakhstan and the President Nursultan Nazarbayev.

The Union demonstrates a good example of how you can work for the benefit of your people," the diplomat said.


The interlocutors also spoke for the development of inter-parliamentary relations. The meetings of the relevant committees and inter-parliamentary groups on cooperation between the Majilis and the National Assembly will allow studying and exchanging experience in law-making activities," Mr Nigmatulin added.


In addition, the meeting talked over preparations for the forthcoming CSTO Parliamentary Assembly in Yerevan, in which the Kazakh Mazhilis delegation is scheduled to participate. The agenda includes discussion of important model laws, as well as topical issues of regional cooperation.
