Kazakhstan application for OSCE presidency perceived with optimism - J. Finli

Kazakhstan application for presidency in OSCE has been perceived by the United States with great optimism.

Astana. October 18. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhstan application for presidency in OSCE has been perceived by the United States with great optimism. The US ambassador at OSCE Julia Finli said today during the meeting with the State Secretary of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kanat Saudabayev, the agency reports referring to the president's administration.

"World community act toward achievements of Kazakhstan in construction of democratic society and successful economy within all 5 years with respect. The application of Kazakhstan for presidency in OSCE is perceived by the United States with great optimism," J. Finli said.

In his turn, K. Saudabayev noted that one of the major priorities of the Kazakhstan presidency will be increase of efficiency of the measures for maintenance of humanitarian safety. Kazakhstan plans to strengthen OSCE efforts in struggle against all forms of racism, intolerance and discrimination. Relying on its own experience of interethnic consent, Kazakhstan plans to strengthen the organization as the bridge between the West and the East in the dialogue of civilizations. Much attention will be drawn to the issues of expansion of the OSCE presence in Central Asia, maintenance of steady development of the region and more active cooperation of the organization with Afghanistan.

"Positive consideration of the Kazakhstan application would become great contribution to further development of democracy not only in our country, but also as a whole in all Central Asia. Presidency of the economically strong and dynamically developing democratic Kazakhstan in OSCE will not only become high assessment of our achievements for the years of independence, but will also favorably affect general situation in the organization, which will demonstrate equality of all members and will strengthen its reputation in the countries "to the east from Vienna," Kazakhstan State Secretary concluded.
