Kazakhstan as OSCE chairman expressed concern over uprising in Kyrgyzstan

Almaty. April 8. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhstan as the OSCE country - chairman has expressed concern over disorders in Kyrgyzstan, the agency reports citing RIA RosBusinessConsulting (RBC).

"The State Secretary - the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Kanat Saudabaev, held a telephone conversation with the head of Kyrgyz Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kadyrbek Sarbaev, and expressed "deep concern" over the events in Kyrgyzstan," OSCE press service informed.

K. Saudabaev informed his counterpart that OSCE is calling upon all parties of the conflict to "calmness and restraint" and hopes that the government and opposition in Kyrgyzstan will demonstrate political will and wisdom in the joint resolution of their disagreements in the interests of the people of Kyrgyzstan."

"OSCE realizes that at the heart of the conflict are deep and long political, economic and social problems, which should be resolved through wide political dialogue. OSCE is ready to help the parties to organize such dialogues," K. Saudabaev said.

According to the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan, death toll due to disorders in Bishkek has reached 17 people and 142 injured people.
