Kazakhstan attaches great value to strengthening of cooperation with Japan. The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, said during the ceremony of presentation of credentials by the Plenipotentiary and Extraordinary Ambassador of Japan to Kazakhstan, the agency reports.

Astana. September 3. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhstan attaches great value to strengthening of cooperation with Japan. The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, said during the ceremony of presentation of credentials by the Plenipotentiary and Extraordinary Ambassador of Japan to Kazakhstan, the agency reports.

"Our country attaches great value to strengthening of cooperation with Japan," the leader of the state said. "We are interested in participation of the Japanese companies in projects on diversification of the Kazakhstan economy, in the field of innovations and science, and also in the sphere of export-oriented manufactures," N. Nazarbayev emphasized.

The Ambassador expressed interest in expansion of mutual relations of Kazakhstan and Japan.

According to official data, commodity turnover between two countries in 2007 made $1.7 billion. Following the results of the first quarter of 2008, volume of mutual trade increased by 5.5 % in comparison with the similar period of the last year and made $151.3 million, including Kazakhstan export - $114.9 million, and Japanese import - $36.4 million.
