Kazakhstan CEC chairman met Ambassador, US OSCE permanent representative

Kazakhstan Chairman of Central Election Commission Kuandyk Turgankulov met the Ambassador, permanent representative of the United States America at OSCE Julia Finli by her request, the agency reports referring to the CEC press service.

Astana. October 18. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhstan Chairman of Central Election Commission Kuandyk Turgankulov met the Ambassador, permanent representative of the United States America at OSCE Julia Finli by her request, the agency reports referring to the CEC press service.

"During the meeting Kuandyk Turgankulov and Julia Finli exchanged opinions on the results of extraordinary elections of the deputies of the Majilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan and the work on further development of the Kazakhstan election legislation," the message states.

According to the press service, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the USA to Kazakhstan John Ordway and the ranking officials of the US embassy took part in the meeting as well.

According to K. Turgankulov, during preparation of the bill of amendments and additions to the election legislation the Central Electoral Committee considers recommendations of the international organizations, including OSCE/ODHR, nongovernmental organizations, political parties of Kazakhstan and other participants of election process. "The package of proposals is being developed. After the receipt of the final report of OSCE/ODHR, following the results of supervision over parliamentary elections, the observations and recommendations specified in it will be taken into consideration," the CEC chairman emphasized.

According to the press service, in the end of the meeting J. Finli positively estimated the practice of the Republic of Kazakhstan of carrying out of democratic and balanced elections.
