Kazakhstan considers an opportunity of increase of support of operations of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) carried out in Afghanistan. The Minister of Defense of Kazakhstan, Danial Ahmetov, informed New Europe agency on Monday, the agency reports referring to the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan.

Astana. October 29. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhstan considers an opportunity of increase of support of operations of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) carried out in Afghanistan. The Minister of Defense of Kazakhstan, Danial Ahmetov, informed New Europe agency on Monday, the agency reports referring to the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan.

"Kazakhstan is now studying conditions for organization of railway transit of ISAF cargoes to Afghanistan."

"Valuable contribution to the process of stabilization of Afghanistan can become contribution of the Kazakhstan officers to the work of ISAF hospitals and headquarters. NATO welcomes the steps of Kazakhstan in this direction," the Minister of Defense of Kazakhstan emphasized.

As it was informed earlier, the Minister of Defense met the NATO Secretary General, Jaap de Hoop Sheffer, on October 15 in Brussels. "Both parties expressed interest in further development of mutual relations and discussed problems of the regional and international security," the press release of the Kazakhstan Defense Ministry informed.
