Kazakhstan considers the issue of introducing special requirements to appearance

Kazakhstanis should wear those clothes that fit our traditions and time, said the Minister for Religious Affairs and Civil Society of Kazakhstan, Nurlan Yermekbayev, at a press conference following the meeting of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Astana. 2 May. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhstanis should wear those clothes that fit our traditions and time, said the Minister for Religious Affairs and Civil Society of Kazakhstan, Nurlan Yermekbayev, at a press conference following the meeting of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The head of state, during a meeting with the leaders of Spiritual Management of Muslims of Kazakhstan, said that the appearance of young people with loosened beards and cut pants, as well as girls in black robes, do not correspond to our traditions.

"Of course, we retain the right of every citizen to dress as he wants. At the same time, it is necessary to conduct explanatory work with those citizens who follow instructions alien to our people," N. Yermekbayev noted.

The Minister set up the Middle East as an example, where strict requirements for clothing are established, both for its citizens and for foreign tourists. At the same time, even people of a different faith, when they come to these countries, follow the established rules regarding appearance.

"This is a very important, sensitive issue. We will examine it from all sides together with experts and specialists. The government and the civil society will come to a correct, balanced decision," N. Yermekbayev concluded.
