Kazakhstan Constitutional Council cancelled a number of accepted decisions

The Constitutional Council of Kazakhstan reconsidered and cancelled a number of accepted decisions in connection with amendments to the Constitution, introduced in May, 2007.

Astana. November 12. Kazakhstan Today - The Constitutional Council of Kazakhstan reconsidered and cancelled a number of accepted decisions in connection with amendments to the Constitution, introduced in May, 2007. The chairman of the Constitutional Council Igor Rogov informed on Friday, the agency reports.

"In connection with adoption of the law on amendments and additions to the Constitution of Kazakhstan the Constitutional Council considered it necessary to reconsider a number of decisions declaring them invalid," I. Rogov said.

As it was informed earlier, 16 normative decisions of the Constitutional Council have been reconsidered, five of which have been cancelled partially and eleven - completely. As a whole, those decisions, which do not coordinate with the new edition of the Basic Law, have been cancelled.

According to the document, the decisions of the council regarding official interpretation of former articles of the Constitution concerning authorization of arrest and holding in custody, formation of one-mandatory constituencies for elections of Majilis deputies, terminations of powers of deputies of parliament, and merger of state and public institutes have been completely cancelled. The separate positions of the decisions explaining the norms of the Basic Law in former edition, concerning imperativeness of the mandate of deputies, ban on state financing of public associations have been cancelled.
