Kazakhstan Discusses Cooperation with Germany and Jordan

Kazakhstan has discussed the development of cooperation with Germany and Jordan, as well as engagement with the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS), according to the Kazakh Foreign Ministry.

Kazakh Deputy Foreign Minister Arman Issetov received copies of the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Kazakhstan, Renate Paich.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the current state of bilateral relations and prospects for strengthening cooperation in the political, trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

Kazakh Deputy Foreign Minister Arman Isagaliyev also met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to Kazakhstan, Hamza Al-Omari. The two sides discussed current issues of Kazakh-Jordanian cooperation and prospects for further strengthening bilateral ties.
Separately, Isagaliyev held a meeting with Berik Aryn, Director General of the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS).

Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Indonesia Serzhan Abdykarimov held a meeting with the Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Young Entrepreneurs (KAPMI) Muliansyah Abdurrahman and representatives of this organization.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on a wide range of issues related to bilateral trade, economic and investment cooperation between Kazakhstan and Indonesia.
Ambassador Abdykarimov presented information on Kazakhstan’s favorable investment and business climate and outlined promising areas for expanding economic cooperation between the two countries.
The Ambassador noted the importance of the Free Trade Agreement between the Member States of the Eurasian Economic Union and Indonesia, signed on 21 December 2025 in St. Petersburg, Russia. The implementation of the Agreement is expected to contribute to the further expansion of trade and economic ties and an increase in mutual trade between Kazakhstan and Indonesia.
Kazakh diplomat also informed the guests about the ongoing socio-political reforms in Kazakhstan and presented key provisions of the newly adopted Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Chairman of "KAPMI" Muliansyah Abdurrahman expressed interest in further developing business contacts with Kazakhstan and noted the importance of expanding cooperation between young entrepreneurs of the two countries. The Indonesian side expressed readiness to facilitate the establishment of new business ties, the exchange of experience, and the development of promising areas of cooperation.
The parties confirmed their mutual interest in maintaining a regular and constructive dialogue, expanding cooperation between the business communities of the two countries, and further developing mutually beneficial Kazakhstan-Indonesia partnership.
Kazakhstan to Present Its Initiatives at U.N. General Assembly in New York

Kazakhstan will present its national and regional initiatives during the High-Level Week of the 81st session of the U.N. General Assembly, scheduled to take place in New York from Sept. 22 to 28, 2026, the Kazakh Foreign Ministry said.
The session will be held under the theme "Restoring Trust, Managing Transformation." Discussions will focus on current international issues, emerging technologies and artificial intelligence, as well as U.N. reform, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhanbolat Ussenov said.
For Kazakhstan, High-Level Week will provide an important platform to advance national and regional initiatives, strengthen bilateral ties and develop joint responses to pressing global and regional challenges.
Foreign Minister Mukhtar Tleuberdi will lead the Kazakh delegation. He is scheduled to address the U.N. General Assembly’s general debate, meet U.N. Secretary-General António Guterres and hold bilateral talks with foreign ministers from U.N. member states and senior officials from international organizations.
The Kazakh delegation will also attend informal meetings of regional organizations and multilateral groups, mandated General Assembly events and consultations among Central Asian foreign ministers.
Kuwaiti Investment, Caspian Ferry and Serbia: Kazakhstan Expands International Ties

Kazakhstan is discussing investment in oil and gas projects with Kuwait, the resumption of passenger ferry services across the Caspian Sea with Azerbaijan and expanded consular cooperation with Serbia, the Kazakh Foreign Ministry said.

Kuwait Foreign Petroleum Exploration Company, or KUFPEC, has expressed interest in investment opportunities in Kazakhstan’s oil and gas sector. The two sides agreed to arrange a meeting of technical teams to discuss specific projects, their parameters and potential implementation mechanisms.
Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan are discussing the resumption of passenger services on the Kuryk-Baku-Kuryk ferry route. Before the service was suspended, it carried about 1,500 passengers annually. The Port of Baku said work to restore the route was already underway.
The two sides also discussed increasing freight traffic between their ports and constructing a joint intermodal terminal in Alat.
Kazakhstan and Serbia also intend to expand cooperation in consular and legal affairs. The two countries discussed protecting the rights of their citizens, providing consular assistance and broadening their bilateral legal framework.
South Korea Calls Kazakhstan Its Largest Trade and Investment Partner in Central Asia

South Korean National Assembly Speaker Cho Jung-sik has described Kazakhstan as South Korea’s largest trade and investment partner in Central Asia. He made the remarks during a meeting with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, according to the Akorda presidential press service.
Cho Jung-sik highlighted the importance of cooperation between the two countries in energy, digitalisation and artificial intelligence. He said Kazakhstan and South Korea have steadily expanded cooperation across various sectors in recent years.
"Following your visit to Korea, relations between our countries have been elevated to a future-oriented comprehensive strategic partnership," the speaker said.

Tokayev, for his part, said that during talks with South Korean President Lee Jae-myung the previous day, the two leaders had agreed to elevate bilateral cooperation to a future-oriented comprehensive strategic partnership.
The Kazakh president also discussed trade, economic and investment ties. More than 1,000 joint ventures involving Korean capital operate in Kazakhstan, while joint projects are being implemented across a number of sectors.
The two sides also focused on interparliamentary cooperation.
"Overall, interparliamentary dialogue has deepened considerably in recent years. Regular contacts have been maintained between the Parliament of Kazakhstan and the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea. These ties will be actively continued by members of the Kurultai," Tokayev said.
The president also outlined political reforms in Kazakhstan, including the transition to a unicameral Kurultai, the establishment of the post of vice-president, the formation of the Security Council Office and the start of the work of the Halyk Kenesi.

The two sides discussed cultural and humanitarian ties and the development of tourism. Tokayev noted that Kazakhstan is home to around 120,000 ethnic Koreans, known as Koryo-saram.
"As you know, next year will mark 90 years since the beginning of the resettlement of the Korean people to Kazakhstan. We plan to commemorate this historic anniversary at a high level," the president said.
Cho Jung-sik also announced that Kazakhstan will host the fourth meeting of the speakers of parliament of the Republic of Korea and Central Asian countries in spring 2027. He said he planned to attend the forum.
At the end of the meeting, the two sides expressed their intention to continue strengthening cooperation between Kazakhstan and South Korea.
The Kazakh president is due to take part today in the first Central Asia-Republic of Korea summit.
Kazakhstan and Serbia Move to Expand Military-Technical Cooperation

Kazakhstan’s Kurultai has approved at first reading a bill to ratify an agreement between the governments of Kazakhstan and Serbia on military-technical cooperation.
The agreement was signed in Belgrade on November 29, 2023. It provides for the supply of military products, the maintenance and repair of weapons and military equipment, as well as joint research and development projects.
Kazakhstan and Serbia will also be able to cooperate on technology transfers, provide each other with military-technical assistance, train specialists and conduct joint testing of weapons and military equipment.
The tests are expected to be carried out in line with the capabilities of the two countries’ military infrastructure.
Kazakhstan and South Korea Agree to Elevate Relations to New Level

Kazakhstan and South Korea have agreed to elevate bilateral relations to a future-oriented comprehensive strategic partnership, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said during expanded-format talks with South Korean President Lee Jae-myung, according to the Akorda presidential press service.
"Today, we reached an agreement to elevate bilateral relations to a future-oriented comprehensive strategic partnership," Tokayev said.
Tokayev highlighted the steady progress in cooperation between the two countries and described South Korea as a reliable strategic partner of Kazakhstan.
The president also said South Korea had invested more than $12 billion in Kazakhstan’s economy. South Korean companies are successfully operating in the Kazakh market, he said, adding that the country would continue creating favorable conditions for them.
The two sides paid particular attention to education and science. An agreement to open a branch of the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, or KAIST, in Alatau City is expected to be signed during the visit.
"I am confident this step will give fresh impetus to deeper cooperation in education and science," Tokayev said.

Lee said South Korea was ready to support the modernization of Kazakhstan’s industry through advanced industrial and digital technologies.
"Kazakhstan is an important economic security partner for us. The country is not only rich in energy and natural resources but also has significant potential in promising high-tech sectors," the South Korean president said.
The leaders also emphasized the similarity of the two countries’ positions on global sustainable development and security.
Kazakhstan and South Korea previously signed commercial agreements worth $19 billion.
A roundtable was also held in Seoul, where Kazakhstan proposed new areas of cooperation with South Korea.
The two countries intend to double bilateral trade and expand commerce in high-value-added products, Tokayev said during a meeting with South Korean Prime Minister Han Seong-sook.
South Korean brand Lotte also plans to build hotels in Almaty and Alatau City. Hotel Lotte and Sensata Invest signed memorandums following Tokayev’s meeting with the chairman of Lotte Group.

Kazakhstan and South Korea intend to double bilateral trade and expand commerce in high-value-added products, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said during a meeting with South Korean Prime Minister Han Seong-sook, according to the Akorda presidential press service.
"We have set the goal of doubling bilateral trade. To achieve this, it is important not only to increase volumes but also to improve the structure of trade by expanding the range of high-value-added goods. I therefore believe it is highly relevant to develop a comprehensive Kazakhstan-Korea trade, economic and investment cooperation program for 2027-2030. I also consider it important to prepare a separate industrial cooperation roadmap incorporating the most promising projects for localizing production and exporting goods to third-country markets," Tokayev said.
The president noted that South Korea ranks among Kazakhstan’s 10 largest trade and investment partners. More than 1,000 joint ventures involving South Korean capital operate in the country.
Tokayev said Kazakhstan had created favorable conditions for both major South Korean corporations and small and medium-sized businesses. Cooperation is also supported by the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technological Cooperation and the bilateral Business Council.
Han described Kazakhstan as South Korea’s largest trade and investment partner in Central Asia.
"I hope the current summit will give further momentum to cooperation between our countries, particularly in the economy and energy supply chains. We also believe Korea can become a strong partner for Kazakhstan in developing the new Alatau City," Han said.
The two sides also discussed joint projects in transport and logistics, critical materials, automotive manufacturing, digitalization, artificial intelligence and health care.
Tokayev emphasized the importance of his upcoming talks with South Korean President Lee Jae-myung, which he said should open a new chapter in bilateral relations.
