Kazakhstan during OSCE presidency may play big role in resolution of frozen conflicts

Kazakhstan during its presidency in OSCE may be able to play big role in resolution of the frozen conflicts. Dr. Martha Brill Olcott, Senior Associate of Carnegie Fund, said at the international conference in the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.

Astana. October 28. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhstan during its presidency in OSCE may be able to play big role in resolution of frozen conflicts. Dr. Martha Brill Olcott, Senior Associate of Carnegie Fund, said at the international conference in the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.

"Kazakhstan may be able to play big role in resolution of frozen conflicts," M. Olcott said.

"Kazakhstan may be able to play big role in resolution of the conflict between Russia and Georgia."

M. Olcott considers that friendly relations of Kazakhstan with Azerbaijan and Armenia may also resolve the conflict in Nagorny Karabah.

The Carnegie Fund representative noted big role of Kazakhstan in discussion of the future of Afghanistan. "Kazakhstan may contribute to continuation of the debate on Afghanistan," she explained.

Kazakhstan will preside in OSCE in 2010.
