Kazakhstan Interested in Strengthening Strategic Partnership with China, Tokayev Says

Kazakhstan remains firmly committed to comprehensively strengthening its everlasting strategic partnership with China, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said during talks with President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping, according to the Akorda presidential press service.

"China enjoys tremendous authority within the international community, and its achievements have been recognised worldwide (...) In recent years, political dialogue between our two countries has intensified significantly," Tokayev said.


For his part, Chinese President Xi Jinping noted that the everlasting comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Kazakhstan has reached a high level.

"At the same time, there remains considerable potential for its further development," Xi said.


Xi also highly praised the course of large-scale reforms being implemented at the initiative of President Tokayev. In addition, he congratulated the Kazakh leader on the adoption of the new Constitution and wished him success in the upcoming Kurultai elections.

Following the talks, the leaders of Kazakhstan and China signed the Programme and Roadmap for Trade and Economic Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the People's Republic of China for the 2027-2030 period.
