Kazakhstan Parliament ratified agreement between Kazakhstan and CICMA Secretariat

Today at the plenary session the Senate deputies passed the law On ratification of the Agreement between Kazakhstan government and the Secretariat of Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building in Asia (CICMA) on conditions of stay of the Secretariat on the territory of Kazakhstan, the agency reports.

Astana. February 21. Kazakhstan Today - Today at the plenary session the Senate deputies passed the law On ratification of the Agreement between Kazakhstan government and the Secretariat of Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building in Asia (CICMA) on conditions of stay of the Secretariat on the territory of Kazakhstan, the agency reports.

As it was informed earlier, the agreement regulates the issues concerning CICMA Secretariat residence in Kazakhstan.

In conformity with clause 3 of the Agreement, the privilege and immunities of the Secretariat, premise and vehicles of the Secretariat, and also its archives and documents, including official mail, can under no circumstances subject to search, requisition, confiscation, arrest or executive actions.

According to the document, the Secretariat, its actives, incomes and other property are exempted from all direct taxes and tax collections, VAT, imposed on the territory of the receiving party, as well as from all customs payments, duties and fees.

The agreement was signed on June 26, 2007 in Astana.

The law has been forwarded to the President of the country.
