Kazakhstan parliament ratified strategic partnership and allied relations treaty with Azerbaijan

Astana. June 23. Kazakhstan Today - Today at the plenary Senate session the deputies adopted the law "On ratification of the Contract on strategic partnership and allied relations between Republic of Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan Republic," the agency reports.

As it was informed earlier, the contract is aimed at creation of legal basis for further strengthening of interrelations based on principles of equality, mutual trust, strategic partnership and allied relations in all spectrums of cooperation.

The contract stipulated further development of bilateral trade and economic relations, including creation of joint ventures, maintenance of favorable conditions for mutual investments and enterprise activity on the territory of two countries.

The contract was concluded on May 24, 2005 in Baku during the state visit of the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev to Azerbaijan.

The law has been forwarded for the President’s ratification.
